Amicalola State Park Video

We continue our Airstream retirement travel across the country with a visit to Amicalola Falls State Park in the northern Georgia mountains, which is not far from Helen, Georgia.

It is a beautiful starting point for the Appalachian Trail at Springer Mountain, which is just a short hike from Amicalola Falls State Park. This should be on every list as one of the best places to visit in Georgia. It boasts one of the tallest waterfalls east of the Mississippi River and has a tranquil wooded park setting. It is within easy access of Atlanta, parking is plentiful and the hike is not too difficult.

Amicalola Falls State Park is not far from other attractions in the beautiful mountains of northern Georgia, so start planning a trip today. Even if you aren’t ready to challenge the Appalachian Trail, there are plenty of great wooded hikes within the state park. A wooden staircase and pathway meanders its way up beside the waterfall, therefore, it is not too difficult and has beautiful views at every corner. You will not regret this visit.

Laugh along with us as we learn the fine art of RVing in America as we continue our 18-month journey across this great country in our Airstream travel trailer. After that, we plan to sell all of our possessions and travel the world full time.
