Kolonaki is within walking distance of downtown, near the Metro stops and has plenty of great Athens restaurants and shopping, close to the Benaki Museum and an easy hike up Lycabettus Hill to see some amazing views of the city. It is also much less touristy than the areas near the Acropolis.
