Our Visit

In 2022, we spent a total of six weeks in this amazing country and spent the last two weeks with Bev’s mom and nephew, Bud, who visited us in Bologna and Venice. Exploring the narrow streets and canals to find our delicious evening pizza, pasta, and gelato was a daily activity! It’s a memory we will cherish forever!

When to go…

Rome, Italy

We have found with Italy weather that the shoulder seasons are a great time to visit. April-May and September-October have nice weather, that isn’t too hot and is less crowded than the summer months. There will be a higher chance of rainy weather as you move into October.

Best Things to Do

  • Go on a Balsalmic tasting tour near Bologna
  • Visit Rome and the many magnificent attractions like the Colosseum
  • Climb the Leaning Tower of Pisa
  • Hike the 5 towns of Cinque Terre
  • Visit Lake Como and take the ferry between towns
  • Gondola ride in the canals of Venice
  • Marvel at the beauty in the Dolomites
  • See the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore in Florence
