Meteora, Greece Hiking Adventure
Hiking in Meteora, Greece is like no other place. It offers a unique and awe-inspiring experience as you hike the otherworldly landscapes dominated by towering rock formations and monasteries perched on the top of the rock formations. The UNESCO World Heritage site of Meteora combines natural beauty with rich cultural and religious history. It was one of our favorite days of our trip to Greece. The network of well-marked hiking trails allows you to immerse yourself in the tranquility of the surrounding nature, providing panoramic views of the Meteora rocks. This place should definitely go on your hiking and visiting bucket list.

I found the monastery you were at on Google Maps. Some kind soul had put the entire trail on street/trail view up to Monastery of the Holy Trinity. The views match up with what is in your video. Trail looks pretty easy to follow.

Yes, the trail is pretty easy to follow and not too steep. The Holy Trinity was on our list because it was the one featured in the James Bond film, “For Your Eyes Only.” Hope you have a great trip.

Hi John & Bev, long time subscriber here. I’m going to be in Athens for a couple weeks and would like to hike the same path (or shorter) to the monastery (Great Meteoron Monastery?) you did in Meteora. Do you have a map of the trail you took or how I would find it?

Hi Jim,
Sorry but we have been on an Amtrak train across the country and haven’t checked these comments in a couple days. We stayed in Kalabaka and found the trail up to Holy Trinity. We basically made a big loop (some is on the paved road) and looped around to the town of Kastraki. The final stretch is on the sidewalk of the main road back to Kalabaka. It was a wonderful experience. John and Bev
