What is moving to Italy like as an expat? We love making new friends on our world travels and this week, find out about living abroad in Umbria, Italy. We meet up with some YouTube friends, and you can find out more about this expat life in Italy vlog. The Umbria region of Italy is adjacent to Tuscany and is incredibly beautiful. Could we live here someday? It certainly falls into the best place to retire category. We travel by train from Florence to the “Green Heart of Italy” and visit with our friends for three glorious days of eating, eating more, and visiting and seeing some countryside.
Moving to Italy? You might consider Umbria
It is a simple expat life in Umbria with fewer crowds and lower prices than in Tuscany, but it still has great food and beautiful landscapes. So, if you are considering moving to Italy or retiring abroad, the country life of Umbria may be just the place for you. We are always searching for the best place to retire, and now Umbria has made our list. It is no wonder our friends have become Italy expats, and we hope you enjoy this week’s video as we decide if we would consider moving to Italy.

Check out another Retirement Travelers video when we visited Cinque Terre. The amazing five cities on the Ligurian coast are memorable.

Hello there! We live in beautiful Boca Raton Florida and now retired my husband and I are seriously considering living in Gubbio. We have established a close knit group of friends there who have become family to us. We have found a detached home about 15 minutes from the center of Gubbio that is just perfect and has a billion dollar view of the mountains and city.
Any suggestions as to negotiating the price, inspectors, pitfalls, and renovations?
We’ve watched some of your posts on YoUTUBE and have really enjoyed them.
Looking forward to hearing from you with any advice you can give us!
Grazie Mille,
Michael
