Major Attractions

Glacier National Park

Glacier National Park is located in the Rocky Mountains and is famous for its glacier-carved peaks and valleys. You can also drive the ‘Going-to-the-Sun Road,’ an engineering marvel. Due to its extensive hiking trails, adventurers are attracted to this park throughout the year; although, Going-to-the-Sun Road is closed in the winter.. The most common way to explore the park is through day hiking, but some also dare to go on overnight adventures.

Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center

Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center is a haven for people who love wildlife. It was opened as a sanctuary for animals unable to survive in the wild. You can see animals like gray wolves and grizzly bears up close and learn about their history and behavior in a safe space. These animals can be seen playing in the ponds and foraging for food.

Museum of the Rockies

Museum of the Rockies contains some very unique paleontological collections. The museum was founded in 1957 and includes 13 specimens of Tyrannosaurus rex. Moreover, only two complete Tyrannosaurus rex specimens have ever been found, and one of them is preserved in this museum. You will also find the world’s biggest Tyrannosaurus skull here. Besides its displays of dinosaurs and dinosaur eggs, the museum also has a planetarium.

Lewis and Clark Caverns State Park

Lewis and Clark Caverns is one of the first state parks in the country. These caverns are also one of the largest limestone caverns in the world. The site is a favorite spot for people exploring the underground world. Tours inside the cavern are pretty safe as they stay on a concrete walkway and never navigate through tight spaces. However, some tours involve some crawling for spelunkers that are not claustrophobic.

Some other notable places and attractions:

World Museum of Mining
Shore of Flathead Lake
C.M. Russell Museum Complex
Quinn’s Hot Springs Resort
