Our Central American adventure continues in Boquete, Panama. The expats here say it is the best place in the world to retire early because of the low cost of living, great weather, and many things to do. Today we check out this fun city as we go on an e-bike tour, stay in a fantastic hobbit house on Airbnb, visit a local coffee plantation, eat at some great restaurants, and learn why expats say this is the best place in the world to retire. Expat life is good here; we got to see firsthand and visit with some local American retirees. Retirement travel keeps improving each day as we show perhaps why moving to Boquete, Panama might be for you.
Boquete, Panama: Best Place to Retire in the World
Boquete, Panama, is often considered one of the best places in the world to retire for several compelling reasons. Additionally, Boquete boasts a low cost of living compared to the United States, making it an attractive option for retirees on a budget. We visited both Panama City and Boquete. Another lower cost option with good weather is Medellin, Colombia. You might also try connecting with some Expat Facebook groups in the areas that interest you. Good luck.

Worked and lived in Panama for 12 months in 2019. Did not see any crime, walked all areas of Panama City and would be happy to retire there, Panamanians are really lovely people and I made many good friends there.

Those are great questions. We would suggest trying to connect with some expats in the area on Facebook for specific local information on a city.

This is all the info we have on Boquete. We did another video on being a “flexpat” and trying several different low cost places before making a decision. We think it is important to actually see the comparisons. Another good resources for the various places is Facebook groups for each destination. You might try that because there are a good number of expats in Boquete. Best of luck with your retirement planning and hope our channel and website will be a source of inspiration.

We have gotten prescriptions in several places. All have been much cheaper than the US and we didn’t need a prescription.
