The Royal Gorge Train Tour and (Very) Scary Gondola

We continue our retirement travel journey as we visit Canon City, Colorado, and enjoy lunch on an epic two-hour Royal Gorge train tour on the Royal Gorge Route Railroad. We see people enjoying Royal Gorge rafting on the Arkansas River and get a view of the Royal Gorge Bridge from 955 feet below. Later in the day, we walk across the wooden planks of the bridge, the highest bridge in the United States. We also encounter a giant tarantula along a walking path and take the Royal Gorge gondola ride back across the gorge when strong gusts of wind rock the gondola and put a scare into the travelers.
