Anchorage, Alaska Things to Do
Our next retirement travel stop was in Anchorage, Alaska, for a long weekend getaway. Alaska was our 49th visited state, and one of our travel goals was to see all 50 states. We flew into Anchorage and stayed at a downtown hotel. The Alaska Railroad was a block away and was perfect for a day trip to Whittier and a boat ride on the Glacier Quest to see glaciers in Blackstone Bay. There are so many things to do in Alaska. The next day we did another first by trying the Segway Tours of Anchorage. We learned to ride Segways and rode around the downtown Anchorage, Alaska area for over 2 hours. Our short Alaska trip has left us with wanting to plan a longer adventure in this amazing state. We are already planning our next trip to this outdoor paradise.

After returning to Seattle from Anchorage, we headed to North Dakota to see our 50th state. We went to the visitor center in Fargo and joined the ”Best for Last Club”, which means North Dakota was our last state visited. Check out the video here from our visit.
